About time Ubisoft realized that 'always-online' shouldn't mean 'always at risk.' At least now players won’t have to worry about their favorite racing game pulling a disappearing act. (Keeping it fresh by focusing on the risk aspect and avoiding the better late than never phrasing everyone else used.)

Finally, Ubisoft learns from their mistakes—better late than never, right Offline modes should’ve been standard from the start, especially after the whole Crew 1 debacle. Nice to see them listening to the backlash, but it’s wild that it took losing access to an entire game for them to prioritize player ownership. Offline mode in 2025 feels like catching up to what players have wanted for years. At least future Crew games won’t vanish overnight. Ubisoft’s server-dependent model backfired hard, so this is a smart (if overdue) move. Wonder if other always-online games will follow suit An offline mode is great, but it’s frustrating that it took losing The Crew 1 for them to act. Better late than never, I guess. Glad they’re finally adding this, but it’s a shame it took such extreme backlash to make it happen. Offline should be a given for any game. Offline mode About time. Maybe now I won’t have to worry about my racing game turning into a fancy paperweight someday. Ubisoft’s learning the hard way that players don’t want their games held hostage by servers. Better late than never Finally, a step in the right direction. Always-online games are a gamble, and players shouldn’t lose access because of corporate decisions. Good on Ubisoft for course-correcting, but it’s crazy that it took a full game shutdown for them to realize offline modes matter. Offline mode is a win, but it’s sad that it took losing The Crew 1 for Ubisoft to understand why preserving games matters. Better late than never, but this feels like the bare minimum after the original Crew got axed. At least future players won’t face the same issue. Offline mode is a no-brainer, especially after The Crew 1 fiasco. Glad Ubisoft’s finally listening, even if it’s years later. Took them long enough Offline play should’ve been an option from day one, not a reaction to fan outrage. Props to Ubisoft for finally addressing this, but it’s wild that it took a game literally disappearing for them to act. An offline mode is great, but it’s frustrating that it took losing an entire game for Ubisoft to prioritize player access. Offline mode Cool. Now do it for all your always-online games before they’re at risk of vanishing too. Ubisoft’s finally realizing that games shouldn’t just disappear. Offline mode is a step in the right direction, even if it’s late. Good move, but it’s crazy that it took The Crew 1’s shutdown for Ubisoft to see the value in offline play. Offline mode is a welcome change, but it’s a shame it took such a drastic wake-up call for Ubisoft to implement it. Finally, Ubisoft’s making games that won’t vanish overnight. Took them long enough to learn from their mistakes. Offline mode is a smart addition, but it’s wild that it took The Crew 1’s shutdown for Ubisoft to act. Glad they’re adding this, but it’s frustrating that it took losing an entire game for them to prioritize player ownership. Offline play is a step forward, but it’s sad that it took The Crew 1’s death for Ubisoft to care about preservation. Better late than never, but offline modes should’ve been standard from the start. At least future players won’t get burned. Ubisoft’s finally catching up to what players have wanted for years. Offline mode is a no-brainer, especially after The Crew 1. Offline play is a win, but it’s wild that it took a full game shutdown for Ubisoft to understand why it matters.
