Ghost of Tsushima krijgt geen Steam-release in 180 landen vanwege PSN-vereiste
May 12, 2024 10:53 AMDe langverwachte PC-versie van Ghost of Tsushima zal in bijna 180 landen niet op Steam verschijnen vanwege de vereiste om een PSN-account te koppelen voor de online modus Legends. Dit probleem volgt kort op de controverse rondom Helldivers 2, waarbij deze vereiste in eerste instantie ook werd opgelegd, maar na hevige backlash terug werd gedraaid.
Opvallend is dat de titel uit de verkoop is gehaald in exact dezelfde landen als Helldivers 2, namelijk in regio's waar geen PSN-account aangemaakt kan worden. Dit heeft geleid tot automatische restituties van Steam voor sommige spelers. De stap van Sony roept vragen op over hun begrip van de PC-markt, gezien het feit dat veel spelers gewoon de game willen kunnen spelen zonder extra stappen.
Ghost of Tsushima staat gepland om op 16 mei op Steam te lanceren en is een van de vele PlayStation-exclusives die de overstap naar PC maakt. De game van Sucker Punch Productions heeft het op de PlayStation 4 en 5 al uitstekend gedaan met miljoenen verkochte exemplaren.
Moet ik een PSN-account hebben om Ghost of Tsushima op PC te kunnen spelen?Ja, maar alleen voor de online modus Legends. Voor de singleplayer-ervaring is dit niet nodig.
Ghost of Tsushima is ontwikkeld door Sucker Punch Productions en werd oorspronkelijk uitgebracht voor de PlayStation 4 in juli 2020. De game wordt geprezen om zijn cinematische verhaal, prachtige open wereld en diepgaande samurai-gevechtssysteem. De Director's Cut kwam later uit op de PlayStation 5 met verbeterde graphics en extra content.

Man, the whole PSN account requirement for access to online modes really seems to be causing a headache for some players.
